California voters say YES! on Prop 2

(Nov. 4, 2008) – Voters in California approved an historic ballot measure to halt the inhumane confinement of animals on factory farms by an overwhelming margin. As of 11 PM PST, Prop 2 was leading 62% to 38%.

YES! on Prop 2 Supporters Trick or Treat to Stop Ghoulish Practices at Factory Farms

SACRAMENTO (October 31, 2008) - Tonight the more than 4,000 dedicated YES! on Prop 2 volunteers statewide will use Halloween as an opportunity to campaign for passage of a statewide ballot measure that will simply allow farm animals enough room to stand up, turn around and stretch their limbs. Trick or treating volunteers will ask voters if they want a “trick” from the opposition, or more humane “treat”ment for nearly 20 million farm animals by voting YES! on Prop 2.

Humane Leaders Convene in San Francisco to Urge YES! on Prop 2

SAN FRANCISCO (October 30, 2008) – In the final days of the election season, the city of St. Francis—named “America’s Most Humane City” in 2007 by The Humane Society of the United States—is hosting leaders of animal protection organizations from the Bay Area and beyond in support of the YES! on Prop 2 campaign to stop animal cruelty. Leaders are gathering at The San Francisco SPCA’s Adoption Center and are fanning out across the city to spread the message about the importance of passing Prop 2, a modest measure on the November ballot that will simply give farm animals enough room to stand up, turn around and stretch their limbs.
